Funeral services were held recently for Israel Whitney, 29, 1059 Kittrell 
avenue.  The rites were conducted at Oakwood Chapel Church by the Rev. 
Dunstan Williams and burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Whitney died  suddenly at a local hospital.  He was a native of Princess 
Anne County but had lived in Norfolk for 22 years.  He had been employed by 
the D and S Produce Co.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Whitney;  four sisters, 
Miss Nellie Whitney;  Mrs. Gracey Edney, Mrs. Lucy Smith and Mrs. Georgia 
Jordan;  and three brothers, Samuel, Frank and Shirley Whitney, all of 
Norfolk.  Hale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
