R. Finley Gayle, pastor of Memorial Methodist Church. The attendance was very large. Floral tributes were in profusion. W.B. Dougherty sang "Some Time We'll Understand," and Mrs. Russell A. McCoy, Mrs. Atkinson, Raymond Miller and W.B. Dougherty sang "Crossing the Bar." C.F. Heard was accompanist. Burial was in the family lot in Magnolia. The Masons, of which the deceased was a member and officer, participated in the burial service at the grave. The pallbearers were: F.F. Champion, W.B. Dougherty, John W. Jones, Henry Billups, D.E. Geister, C.D. Colonna, John B. Morgan and John T. Gibbs.
