Norfolk Virginian October 20, 1897

Mrs. C.E. Wicks, of Berkley avenue after a two years' sickness, died 
yesterday afternoon.  Mrs. Wicks has been a sufferer for two years from 
consumption, during which time she had treatment of skillful physicians.  
She leaves a husband and three little girls.  The interment will be made in 
Magnolia Cemetery.  Further  notice will be given as to when the funeral 
will take place.

 Mrs, CHAS. WICKS died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, at 3:05 o'clock at the 
residence of her husband, on Berkley avenue.
Funeral will take place from the Chestnut Street Methodist Church at 4 
o'clock.

The funeral of Mrs. Frances M. Wicks will take place this afternoon at 4 
o'clock from the Chestnut Street M.E. Church, of which the deceased was a 
member.  The pastor, Rev. R.M. Chandler, will conduct the services.  The 
interment will be made in Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Fannie M. Wicks took place yesterday afternoon at 4 
o'clock from the Chestnut Street M.E. Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. 
R.M. Chandler, and assisted by Rev. Robert Gatewood and Rev R.H. Bennett, 
both of Norfolk.  The attendance was very large and the floral designs were 
beautiful.  The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers:  Messrs. H.O. 
Billups, O.F. Smith, J.W. Jones, J.C. Simpson, W.T. Hyslop, W.B. Daughtrey, 
W.M. Tilley and George G. Martin.
