Pebworth, 518 Poole street, Atlantic City Ward, at 3:30 o'clock Sunday morning after a long and painful illness which she bore with heroic fortitude and Christian resignation, in the seventy-eighth year of her age. The deceased was a native of Portsmouth, where she resided until about twelve years ago, when she moved to Norfolk, where she has since resided. In early childhood she professed faith in Christ and united with the Baptist Church in Portsmouth, but on taking up her residence in Norfolk she united with Central Baptist Church and continued in fellowship with it until called away by death. She was loved and esteemed by a large circle of friends in Norfolk and Portsmouth for her long, beautiful and useful Christian life, who will learn with sorrow of her demise. She is survived by three children- Mrs. George D. Whitehurst, Lloyd Widgeon and Miss Annie Widgeon, all of Norfolk. The funeral will be held from the residence of Mr. Pebworth at 2 o'clock this afternoon and will be conducted by the Rev. George W. Swope, pastor of Central Baptist Church.
