WILLIAM G. WILBERN, in the 67th year of his age. The funeral will take place TODAY (Friday) January 1, 1904, at 2 p.m., from the Colley Memorial Presbyterian Church. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend. ************************ The Virginian-Pilot announced in its issue of Tuesday that Captain William G. Wilbern was stricken with paralysis at his home, No. 32 Front Street, Atlantic City Ward, with paralysis. He died from the effects of the stroke at 5 o'clock a.m. yesterday, aged 66 years. At the breaking out of the war between the north and south Captain Wilbern entered the Confederate service and served as lieutenant of Company H. Sixth Virginia regiment, Mahone's brigade. After the war he served as a member of one of the branches of the Norfolk city council. He was a prominent Pythian and was past commander of Norfolk Lodge No. 9, K. of P. Several years ago he was commandant of Virginia commandery No. 2, Uniformed Rank, Knights of Pythias, and was largely interested in that branch of the order. The funeral will be solemnized from Colley Memorial Presbyterian Church at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Additional Comments: Elmwood Discrepancies noted in times and rank.
