Wildermann, 89, of the 1000 block of Manchester Ave., died Sept. 9, 2001 at Lake Taylor Hospital. Mr. Wildermann was a native of New Jersey and a resident of Norfolk for many years. He was the son of the late Fritz and Paula Ehlen Wildermann and was preceded in death by his son Robert Wildermann and his grandson Benjamin Wildermann. He retired from the Physics Department of the University of Petroleum and Materials, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and was formerly a Physics Professor at Old Dominion University. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Norfolk, Va. He was an Army veteran of World War II having served his country in Army Intelligence. Mr. Wildermann was a member of Ryan Club of Norfolk. Survivors include his wife, Mary K. Wildermann; a daughter, Elizabeth Wildermann of Durham, N.C.; two sons, Charles Wildermann and his wife Margaret of La Plata, Md., Joseph Wildermann and his wife Anne of Charlottesville, Va.; a daughter-in- law, Nancy Wildermann of Hillsborough, N.C.; and nine grandchildren. The funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church by Father Joseph H. Metzger III. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Building Fund or the endowment fund of the Ryan Club of Norfolk.
