Mrs. Ethel Wilhoite, Retired Teach, Church Leader

NORFOLK - Mrs. Ethel Wilhoite of 826 Lexington St., a retired teach of the 
Lawrenceville School System, died Sunday in her home.

A native of Churchland, she was the widow of Lawrence Wilhoite.

Mrs. Wilhoite, who became a member of the Episcopal Church while a student at 
St. Paul's College, served as president of the Episcopal Church Women of Grace 
Episcopal Church and was its devotional chairwoman. She also was an organizer 
and president of the Altar Guild of the church and chairwoman of its Needlework 
Circle.

Survivors include a sister, Ms. Calista Sheppard of Norfolk; and nieces and 
nephews.

A funeral will be held Thursday at noon in Grace Episcopal Church by the Rev. 
Joseph Greene. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Graves Funeral Home in 
charge. The family will be at her home.
