Virginian Pilot Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1937
Adam Wilker, aged 74, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Robert H.
Diehl, 30 C. View avenue, Ocean View, yesterday morning at 6:55 o’clock after an
illness of one week.  He was a native of Ontario, Canada, and had been a
resident of Norfolk 29 years, residing at 3116 Dunkirk avenue.  He is survived
by one daughter, Mrs. Diehl;  three sons, Ottie A., Alvin L., and Holly L.
Wilker, all of Norfolk;  three sisters, Mrs. Kattie Tree, of Woodstock, Canada;
 Mrs. Maggie Burroughs, of Hamlet, NC, and Mrs. Nannie Thompson, of Spartanburg
SC, a brother, Andrew Wilker, of Warrenton, NC;  six grandchildren, one
great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.  Mr. Wilker was a member of
the Methodist Church at Colerain, NC.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home,
Thirty-fifth street at Colonial avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock, the
Rev. H. S. Hardcastle, pastor of the Christian Temple, officiating.  Interment
will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
