Shelby Wilkins, 413-A West Twenty-eighth street, yesterday afternoon at 1:40 o'clock after an illness of five months. He was a native of Halifax County, N.C., but had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 48 years. Mr. Wilkins was connected with the Pennsylvania Railroad for 15 years prior to a leave of absence on account of his health in 1929. He was the son of the late John W. and Ida T. Powers Wilkins. In addition to his son, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. J.W. Sledge, Weldon, N.C., and one grandson, William Shelby Wilkins, Norfolk. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 631 Westover avenue, Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. The Rev. P. Rowland Wagner, pastor of Central Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
