Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, September 10, 1998 
Velma Wilkins of the 3100 block of Peronne Ave., died Sept. 9, 1998, at Sentara
Leigh Hospital.

Born in Norfolk, she was a housekeeper at J.D.A. Barr. She was a member of
Gideons Riverside Fellowship and Annie B. Mourning Flower Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Braam of Norfolk; one stepson, Phillip
Braam of California; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gideons Riverside Fellowship by
Dr. Milton A. Reid. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be
ready for viewing from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. The family will assemble at 3111
Peronne Ave. at 10 a.m. for the procession. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home,
Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
