Wilkins, was held at the residence, No. 202 Ferguson Avenue, at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. Rev. F.G. Davis, of Trinity M.E. Church officiating. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Pall-bearers: W.W. Williamson, W.E. Brown, J.T. Duffey, J.W. Barnes, John Walters, J.G. Gourley. … Ledger-Dispatch October. 19, 1912 Mrs. Eliza Anne Wilkins At. 1:30 o’clock this morning at her residence, No. 202 Ferguson Avenue, after a lingering illness, Mrs. Eliza Anne Wilkins, youngest daughter of the late Captain Dennis Simmons, and widow of the late John Wilkins, passed away, in the 83rd year of her age. Mrs. Wilkins was born on Knott’s Island, N.C., but removed to Norfolk when very young since which time she had resided here. She was a woman of many sterling qualities, much beloved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was one of the charter members of old Queen Street M.E. Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ella S. Deans and Mrs. Henry V. Crosby; six grandchildren, Mrs. A.W. Deans, Miss Bessie H. Deans, Mrs. F.H. Vanderherchen and Mr. Charles F. Wilbern; also nine great- grandchildren. The funeral will be held at the residence tomorrow at 2 p.m., Rev. F.G. Davis officiating. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
