As peaceful and gentle as an early morning, our loving mother, Ellen Wilson
Wilkins slipped into eternal life with the heavenly Father on Saturday, Feb. 7,
1998, in DePaul Medical Center after a very brief illness.

She was a native of Danville, Va., and the daughter of the late William B. and
Gertrude Jennings Wilson. She was the widow of James Wilkins.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Odean Alston and Wanda Jenkins,
both of Virginia Beach; three sons, Edward Wilkins, Harold Wilkins and Michael
Wilkins, all of Norfolk; a sister, Ella Moore of Virginia Beach; four brothers,
Jesse Wilson of Chesapeake, Corneilous Wilson of Norfolk, William Wilson and
Elijah Hairston, both of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon today in the chapel of Riddick Funeral
Service, Norview Avenue. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will be
at 833 Tamarack Court, Virginia Beach, after the interment.
