Norfolk Virginian Pilot September 27, 1938

Charles W.S. Wilkinson, aged 87, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 
12:45 o'clock. He was the son of the late Joseph W.S. and Mrs. Virginia Hodges 
Wilkinson and was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. Surviving are two 
daughters, Mrs. E.W. Spann and Mrs. L.C. Wilson; four sons, Joseph W.S., A.S., 
Charles B. and Irving Wilkinson; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, 
all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 
o'clock at the Derry Funeral Chapel, Colley and Harrington Avenues. The place of 
burial will be announced later.

Charles W.S. Wilkinson - Funeral services for Mr. Wilkinson, who died Monday, 
will be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Derry Funeral Chapel, 
Colley and Harrington Avenues. The Rev. Garland S. Hopkins, pastor of LeKies 
Memorial Methodist Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. R.B. Grinnan 
pastor of the Colley Avenue Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
