Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, August 21, 1990 
Bessie Drew Williams, 89, of the 2900 block of Virginia Beach Blvd., a former
schoolteacher, died Aug. 19, 1990, in Bridgeport, Conn.

Mrs. Williams, a Portsmouth native, had taught in the Southampton County public
schools. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was the widow of the
Rev. J.R. Williams.

Survivors include a son, the Rev. Ruben E. Williams of Bridgeport; eight
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Trinity Baptist Church, 2501
Lindenwood Ave., by the Rev. Ruben E. Williams. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery . The body will be placed at her residence for viewing and visitation
with the family from 6 to 9 p.m. Riddick Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
