Williams, aged 63, husband of Mrs. Katherine Grail Williams and son of the late Edward F. and Mrs. Ida Guy Williams, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock. Mr. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 817 Shirley Avenue at the time of his death. For many years Mr. Williams had been employed by the City of Norfolk as engineer in the sewer department. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. M. Hazen Colvin, of Washington, D.C. and Ernest V. Williams, D.D.S. of New Orleans; one grandchild, M. Hazen Colvin, Jr. and three brothers, Harry E. Williams, of Maryland and R.C. and L.J. Williams, both of Norfolk. The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of which Mrs. Williams was a member, for services tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. ***************************************************************************** ERNEST L. WILLIAMS - Funeral services for Mr. Williams, whose death occurred Thursday, were held at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. T. P. Scannell officiating. The Rev. Paul V. Heller was in the sanctuary. At the conclusion of the mass, Father Heller paid a high tribute to the Christian life and character of Mr. Williams. During the service, Vincent Smith sang "Benedictus" and "Lead Kindly Light," with Prof. J. Harvey Stevens, as organist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with clusters of Easter lilies, snapdragons, stock and fern. Delegations were present from the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus. A number of city employees were also in attendance. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Services at the grave were conducted by Rev. Paul V. Heller. Pallbearers were Rudolph Bartol, M. Daily Walsh, Vincent Bell, J. J. O'Donnell, and A. A. France.
