Norfolk - Funeral services for Mrs. Jane B. Williams of 1236 Armstrong 
street, who died on September 9, following a period of illness, were held on 
September 12 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. I. W. Penn 
officiating, assisted by the Revs. T. J. Williamson, and B. Battle of 
Newark, NJ, and other ministers.

Mrs. Williams was 74 years of age. She was born in Charles City County, Va, 
but had lived in Norfolk over 50 years. Solos were rendered by the Rev. S. 
Wilson, pastor of New Calvary Baptist Church, Miss Lena Nicholson, and Mrs. 
Connie Davis.

The deceased is survived by her husband, George W. Williams, a 
granddaughter, Mrs. Mabel Ellis Fox, a grandson, George H. Mercer, two 
stepdaughters, Mrs. Jeanette Mercer and Mrs. Mattie Brown, a step-mother, 
Mrs. Mary B. Jones, Charles City, VA., two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Foster, 
Baltimore, MD., and Mrs. Comfort Banks, Charles City, VA; three brothers, 
William, James, and Joseph Barboure, Charles City, VA, and many other 
relatives. Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery.
