Norfolk - Rassie Lester Williams, of 703 Johnson avenue died recently in 
Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after a short illness  A native of 
Southampton County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Elmira Williams and 
a son of the late Rassie C. and Mrs. Vilote Williams.

He retired from the International Longshoreman’s Association Local 1248 
after many years.  He was a member of Southampton County Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Everett Walters of Norfolk;  a brother, Samuel Williams 
of Richmond;  and three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Smith of Norfolk, Mrs. Sylvia 
Luggins of New York, and Mrs. Daisy Talton of Los Angeles.  The body was 
taken to Graves Funeral Home.
