NORFOLK, Va. – Janett F. "Janie" Williams , a native of Bertie County, died May 
14, 2006. She was the widow of Bishop D. Lawrence Williams . 

Mrs. Williams graduated from Elizabeth City State. She was employed with the 
Naval Supply Center. 

Survivors include nine stepchildren, Robert, William Dove, Davie and Joseph, 
Lenora, Jessie, Helen, Gloria, Ruth; a sister, Mildred Flood Outlaw of Ahoskie; 
and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

A homegoing celebration will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mason Memorial 
Church, 744 Goff St., Norfolk. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Riddick 
Funeral Service is in charge.
