A funeral service was held recently at Wesley Union AMEZ Church for Mrs. Lenora 
C. Williams, 90, of 743 Johnson avenue, who died in a Norfolk  hospital after a 
short illness.  She left 43 descendants.

The Rev. W. B. Hathaway, pastor of the church, officiated.  Burial was in 
Calvary Cemetery under direction of Morning Glory Funeral Home.

A native of Bayboro, NC, Mrs. Williams lived in Norfolk 72 years.  She was a 
member of Wesley Union choir for 60 years and was a member of the church’s 
Missionary Circle and its stewardess board No. 1.

Mrs. Williams was the daughter of Tony Cogdell and Mrs. Jane Cogdell.  Her 
husband was the late Peter Williams.

Survivors include two sons, Clarence and Hezekiah Mann of Norfolk;  nine 
grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren, and two 
daughters-in-law, Mrs. Julia Mann and Mrs. Ruby Mann.
