Norfolk - Mrs. Bessie E. Williams of 839 Fremont street died Saturday in a hospital.

A native of Mathews county, she was a daughter of William and Mrs. Mary Eliza Brooks Billups and the widow of Edward Williams.

She was a member of St. John AME Church and United Order of Eastern Star, and formerly owned and operated Northern Beauty Salon.

Surviving are three brothers, Maryus V. Billups of Mathews, Archie Billups of Newport News, and Luther Henry Billups of Philadelphia;  and three sisters, Mrs. Missouri Morris of Mathews, Miss Willie Lee billups of Baltimore, and Mrs. Ida 
Bell Badis of Atlantic City, NJ.

Graves Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
