He was a retired employee of the Norfolk and Western Railway. A native of Jacksonville, N.C., he had lived in Norfolk most of his life. He had been chairman of the trustee board of the Metropolitan A.M.E Zion Church for 19 years and was a past Master Mason of the Negro Masonic order. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Davis Williams; one daughter, Miss Ida W. Jones; five sons, Clyde, Ben, Lee, John and Claude Williams, all of Norfolk and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
