The Virginian-Pilot, Friday, October 25, 1974

NORFOLK - John Oscar Williams of 1243 Hanson Ave., the husband of Mrs. Mary E.
Williams and a retired, 45-year employe of Kline Chevrolet Corp., died Thursday in
his home.

A native of Norfolk, he was a former member of Bute Street Baptist Church, member of
the Sons of Norfolk and Lancaster Lodge.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lela Elizabeth Alston of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs.
Carrie Brooks of Baltimore; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to Elton's Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK -  A funeral service for John Oscar Williams, 80, of 1243 Hanson Ave. will
be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Union Chapel AME Church by the Rev. Clifton Wilson.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Elton Funeral Home in charge. The family
will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8.
