He was born July 14, 1925, to the late Cass Monroe Williams and Esther Brundage in Sayre, Pa. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received two purple hearts and a bronze star. He was a member of the Hartford Artists Association and the Swan Creek Country Club. Before his retirement, he worked in advertising and sales for a department store and was listed in the Who's Who in American Business. An avid sailor, he was an artist, golfer, new-found computer lover and fan of Chinese food. He also wrote poetry and short stories and taught himself how to cast horoscopes. Survivors include his wife, Ann Taylor Williams of Havre de Grace; four sons, James Monroe Williams of Raleigh, N.C., Daniel Jeffrey Williams and wife, Charlotte, of Richmond, Micheal David Williams and his wife, Rhonda, of Edgewood, and John Ryan of Bel Air, Md.; nine grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Elaine Isham. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at noon Friday in Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Joy officiating. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
