Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, October 3, 1992 
James Edward Williams Sr., of the 3500 block of Holland Road, a retired checker,
died Oct. 1, 1992, in his home.

Mr. Williams was born in Norfolk. He was a member of International
Longshoreman's Association, Local 1248, and Grace Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Cordelia Williams; three daughters, Jacqueline
Edmondson of Virginia Beach, Georgia Yancey of Chesapeake and Josephine
Schofield of New York; a son, James Williams Jr. of Chesapeake; two sisters,
Rosa Lee Long of New York City and Beatrice Gary of Norfolk; a brother, Johnny
Scott of Atlanta; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Grace Episcopal Church by the
Rev. Joseph N. Green Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be
from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Riddick Funeral Service. Viewing will be from 1 to 6
p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, where friends may visit the family from 5 to 6
p.m.
