Norfolk - Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday at Queen Street Baptist Church
by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman for Mrs. Bessie E. Williams of 2923 Myrtle avenue.
 She died June 4 at her home.

She was director and president of the church choir for 20 hears.  She also held
membership in the Missionary Society and Dortus Club.

A native of Richmond, she was a retired teacher of the Richmond school system. 
She was the widow of the Rev. Fendall W. Williams and a daughter of the late
Rev. Mr. Charles Harris and Mrs. Winifred Burgess Harris.

Surviving are three sons, Fendall Williams of Washington, John Williams of
Richmond and Lloyd P. Williams of Norfolk;  two daughters, Mrs. Mary Boush and
Mrs. Lucille Anderson of Norfolk;  seven grandchildren;  and eight
great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery.
