The Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 1, 1937

Miss Melisa S. Williams, aged 75 years, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mrs. 
Sarah F. Williams, a native of Princess Anne County, and for many years a 
resident of Norfolk, died at 9:30 o’clock yesterday morning at a local 
hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving her are, two 
sisters, Mrs. L.M. Parker, and Mrs. I.H. Buchanan, of Norfolk; four nieces and 
one nephew. Services will be held from the H.D. Oliver’s Funeral Apartments, 
610-612 East Freemason Street, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. 
Broaddus E. Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment 
will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
