The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Tuesday September 10, 1918
James M. Williams, a native of Newberg, N.Y., but for the past 54 years a 
resident of Norfolk, died at his home 710 Mariner street at 7 o'clock last 
evening. The deceased was in his 79th year. He is survived by two brothers, 
Samuel Williams of Dayton, Ohio and George Williams of New Jersey. He was a 
member of Cumberland Street M.E. church and a veteran of the Civil War.
Funeral service will be held at the residence at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, 
Rev. J. L. Bray, pastor of his church officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
