Graves Williams, formerly of the 800 block of Fremont St., died Dec. 22, 2002. Mrs. Williams was a retired self-employed restaurant owner, member of First Baptist Church Bute Street and Les Domiselles Social and Savings Club. The widow of James Williams she is survived by a sister, Vernetta C. Sturgis of Norfolk; a sister-in-law, Ophelia H. Graves of Norfolk; a nephew, Dr. Ernald B. Graves of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of great-nieces and -nephews. In addition to her family, Delrease leaves behind so many friends, especially her devoted ODU college girls from the 1970s. It was Delrease and her husband, James, who hired these girls to work for their transportation company, Teddean Limousines. They took the girls under their wings as both employees and friends. They have remained close ever since and will miss her very much. A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery by Dr. R. Murray. Special thanks to the staff of Autumn Care of Norfolk for their caring service and to First Baptist Church Bute Street. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
