Virginian-Pilot, August 17, 1899
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Williams, wife of Mr. David Williams, engineer at the 
Norfolk Navy Yard, departed this life yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the 
residence on Montlant Avenue, after an illness of several months. Deceased was 
47 years of age and had been a resident here for 10 years, having lived in 
Norfolk for 16 years before moving to Berkley. She was born in Boston and lived 
there until she moved to Norfolk. The funeral services will take place today at 
11 a.m. from the late residence. The remains will be interred in Elmwood 
Cemetery, Norfolk.
