Williams Sr., of 828 Johnson avenue, Norfolk, who died at McGuire’s Hospital in Richmond Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m., was held at Bank Street Baptist Church, Norfolk, Friday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. Dr. J. B. Henderson, pastor, officiated. A native of Norfolk, Mr. Williams had been a hospital patient since last January. He was first a patient at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth. He was transferred to the Richmond hospital almost two weeks before his death. He was a career serviceman, having served in World War I and II in the U. S. Navy as chief steward. He enlisted at an early age. Mr. Williams’ survivors are his widow, Mrs. Bessie M. Williams; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Harris, Norfolk, and Mrs. Adeline Woodhurst, Portsmouth; two sons, Leo Jr., and Luther, of Norfolk; three grandchildren, one brother, E. Walter Williams, Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Imogene Perkins and Mrs. Rosa Robinson, both of Norfolk, and other relatives. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with B. F. King’s Funeral Home in charge.
