Born in Tarbor, N.C., he was the widower of Florence Lee Hite Williams. He had retired from solid waste removal with the city of Norfolk after 33 years of service. He was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church, Norfolk, were he served on the Deacon Board. Survivors include two daughters, Juliette Blackwell-Williams and Shirley Watson-Rudd; a son, David Williams; a sister, Blanch Williams; a brother, Thad Williams; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Olive Grove Baptist Church, Norfolk, by Dr. Harry A. Davis. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hale Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Friday. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at noon.
