A native of Mount Olive, N.C., and born to the late James and Beulah Peterson Bryant, she was a retired school teacher from Norfolk Public Schools with 24 years of service. She was also a retired media specialist from Norfolk Public Schools and was a graduate of Norfolk State University with a B.S. degree in business. She was a member of Woodland Avenue Baptist Church. The widow of Furman Williams, she is survived by a daughter, Glynis C. Jordan and her husband, Nathaniel L. Jordan of Virginia Beach; a sister, Christine Washington of Baltimore; a brother, Paul Bryant of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Ashlee Williams Jordan and Demawn Jordan of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, including Angela Dean of Arlington, Texas, whom she helped to raise, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bethany Baptist Church by Bishop Anthony Moses. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Riddick Funeral Service.
