Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday October 8, 1941
William Wright Williford, aged 40, of 933 Lafayette avenue, South Norfolk, died 
yesterday morning at 11:15 o'clock at a local hospital after an illness of a 
week. A native of Bertie County, North Carolina, he had made his home here 23 
years. He was the son of the late Robert Henry and Sarah Frances Owens Williford 
and husband of the late Pearl Sawyer Williford. He is survived by a son, William 
Wright Williford, Jr.; a sister, Mrs. J.L. Leicester, of Harrellsville, N.C.; a 
brother, J.R. Williford, of South Norfolk.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, 
South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 4 
o'clock. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
