Barbara Upton Wilson, 75, passed away on Fri., Dec. 13, 2013. A native of
Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Stanley Upton and Ola Ruth
Garrison Upton Dail and was predeceased by her special friend, John 
Fitzgerald.
She was an honor graduate of Maury High School and went on to have a long
distinguished career with United Virginia Bank now SunTrust Bank. She was
appointed the first female Vice-President of the Bank. Following her
retirement Barbara spent many happy hours playing golf and traveling.
She is survived by a son, Garrison Brett Wilson; a brother, Donald E. Upton
of Richmond; and her special lifelong friend, Frances Facchini.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tues., Dec.
17th in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be
made to the Hampton Roads Community Foundation, 101 W. Main St., Suite 4500,
Norfolk, VA 23510. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel is handling 
arrangements.
