Margaret Wilson, 83, of Hague Park Apartments, who retired from teaching at Maury High School after 50 years, died Friday in a hospital. Miss Wilson was born in Norfolk County. While at Maury she headed the Foreign Languages Department and the Social Studies Department. She was active for many years in organizations at Ghent United Methodist Church. She had served more than 5,000 hours in volunteer services with the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. She was a senior counselor and camp director of Camp Alleghany in West Virginia. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Theodore Garnett of Norfolk, and a brother, Nicholas G. Wilson Jr. of Virginia Beach. The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, and the family will be at 1411 Claremont Ave. A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. David H. Powell. The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorial donations be made to Norfolk General Hospital Auxiliary.
