The Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 10, 1948


Joseph Mark Wilson, 40, husband of Beatrice Blankenship Wilson and son of Mrs. 
Jennie S. Wilson and the late George E. Wilson, died at a Norfolk hospital 
Monday at 10:45 p.m.
Besides his wife and mother he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Clifton A. 
Shook and Mrs. J.E. Charles, both of Portsmouth; Mrs. A.B. Capps and Miss June 
Wilson, both of Norfolk, and three brothers, G.W. Wilson, of Portsmouth; E.D. 
Wilson, of Portsmouth, of Jackson, Miss., and R.E. Wilson, of Petersburg.
Mr. Wilson was a native of Portsmouth and had been a resident of Norfolk for 20 
years. He was a member of Ruth Lodge No. 89, A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Masons 
and was in the employ of the Norfolk & Washington Steamboat Company.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home today at 
3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Joseph S. Johnston, pastor of Epworth Methodist Church. 
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
