Funeral services for John R. Wilson, who died at his home on Craig street, May 
16 after a long illness, were held from the St. Mark’s Christian Church Sunday, 
May 21, with the Rev. R. J. Alston, pastor, officiating. The deceased had made 
his home in Berkley for fifty years. He was a native of Fentress.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lily Wilson; two daughters, Madams 
Gladys Harris and Mary Braxton; a son, John R. Wilson, Jr of Bridgeport, PA; two 
step daughters, Madams Katherine Wood and Lillie Riddick; three grandchildren, 
Madams Mildred Banks and Ethel M. Williams and Pvt. James Braxton; three 
sisters, and one brother.

During the services, solos were rendered by Mrs. Mary E. Wilson. Interment was 
in Mt. Olive Cemetery with the Chatman Funeral Home in charge.
