Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, July 7, 2000 
Mac Arther Winborne Sr., 54, of the 800 block of Hayes St., died July 4, 2000.

Born in Harrellsville, N.C., Mr. Winborne was a retired longshoreman for ILA
Local 1248 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist
Church in Harrellsville.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Winborne; six daughters, Nudgie Williams of
Cofield, N.C., Wanda Winborne of Norfolk, Denise Turner of Raleigh, N.C., Portia
Winborne and Shawn Winborne, both of Bear, Del., and Bridget Winborne of
Norfolk; a son, Mac Arther Winborne Jr. of Norfolk; five sisters; a brother; six
grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Metropolitan Funeral Service,
Granby Street Chapel, by the Rev. Charlie Carter. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery . Family and friends will assemble at 833 Hayes Street one hour prior
to the service for the procession.
