Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 28, 2009
NORFOLK - Michael L . Winder , 59, of the 3500 block of Riverside Drive, went 
home to be with the Lord, Sept. 24, 2009. A native of Norfolk, he was the son 
of the late William and Alean Winder . 

He is survived by his son, Michael Clemons; five grandchildren; one brother, 
William Winder (Sandra) of Columbus, Ga.; four sisters, Carolyn Mercer, 
Magdalene Eborn, Clotelia Lawrence (Herbert) and Kathleen Brooks (Edward); 
sister- in-law, Shirley Winder ; four aunts, Sarah Snowden, Carrie Guisburg, 
Ethel Winder and Bernice Winder ; an adopted sister, Elsie Smith; an adopted 
aunt, Rosa Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved 
him very much. 

A celebration of life will be held at New Macedonia UCC, 1426 Marshall and 
Jamaica Avenue, Wednesday at noon p.m. Interment will follow at Calvary 
Cemetery. Viewing will be held Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Pretlow and Sons 
Funeral Home, Chesapeake. We invite you to send a condolence message in the
