Mrs. Winfield was born in Ivor, Va. She was the daughter of the late Rosena T. and William Henry Gray and was the widow of Emeile I. Winfield Sr. She retired from the Norfolk Parks and Recreation Department in 1970 with 27 years of service. She was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church, where she was also the church clerk and a member of the Senior Choir, Trustee Board and Helping Hand Club. She was a lifetime member of the Recreation Society and the advisor at Virginia State College. She was a member of the Ada Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star (NU)20. Survivors include one daughter, Connie W. Butler of Norfolk; two sons, Emeile I. Winfield Jr. of Landover, Md., and Edmere G. Winfield of Fairfax, Va.; one sister, Mary G. Davenport of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Second Calvary Baptist Church, Corprew Ave., by the Rev. Geoffrey V. Guns. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Monday. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Monday for the procession to the church. Family and friends will be at 2425 Stribling Lane, Norfolk.
