Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, October 6, 1991 
Emma Lee Wingo, of the 2600 block of Corprew Ave., died Oct. 4, 1991, in a
hospital.

Mrs. Wingo was born in Petersburg and retired from Norfolk public schools as a
librarian. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street, the United
Community Fund, the Women's Club, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Les Toujours,
and the Iota Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

She was a graduate of Virginia State College and Case Western Reserve
University, where she earned her master's degree. She was the widow of Donald C.
Wingo.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria W. Wallace of Williamsburg; a sister,
Thelma Page of Hyattsville, Md.; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church,
Bute Street, by the Rev. Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial
donations may be made to the church library or the T.D.P. Rectory of R.L. Jones
AME Zion Church, Washington. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
