NORFOLK - Emma Louise Winslow , 73, of the 1700 block of Selden Ave. passed 
away May 14, 2007. She was born Nov. 28, 1933, to the late Emma and Richard 
Venters Sr. She was a graduate of Norfolk State University Nursing Program at 
the age of 55. She was an active member of Enoch Baptist Church, Virginia 
Beach. She retired from the Ford plant where she was an assembly worker. Emma 
was predeceased by her husband, James Clayton Winslow ; two sisters, Hilda Mae 
Edwards and Marion Ventors; and a special friend, Clarence Blow, with whom she 
shared many great years. 

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Linda Ann Brown and Sandra 
Louise Hines, both of Norfolk; one sister, Annie Mae Daniels; one brother, 
Richard Venters Jr.; five grandchildren, James Winslow (Lynette) and Kimberly 
Winslow , both of Georgia, Earl L . Brown and Anthony Hines, both of Norfolk 
and Tasha Whitfield (Javonne) of Portsmouth; 15 great-grandchildren; and a 
host of other relatives and friends. 

A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in Enoch Baptist Church, 5641 Herbert 
Moore Road. Pastor Michael Daniels will officiate. Interment will be at 
Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 1718 Selden 
Ave. one hour prior to service for procession to the church. Metropolitan 
Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel is in charge. Condolences may be offered to
