M. E. Church, Rev. P. L. Moore, the pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. W. G. Booker. "Have Thine own way,Lord" was beautifully sung by Mrs. Lula Thorogood. Mr. Winslow was born in Belvedere, NC,August 5,1872 and was the son of the late Cromwell and Penny Winslow. He was converted in childhood. He was married Feb. 15,1899 to Frances Spriggs. The pallbearers were Messrs. Monroe Harris, George Shields, Henry Lockett, E. R. Ferebee, George Foreman, Walter Wilson, I. H. W. Guy and Brown. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, two daughters, Misses Elsie and Frances Rose Lee, one step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Spriggs Carter, four sons, Solomon, Ralph, Paul and Dorsey; two brothers, Messrs. Oliver and Johnny Winslow of Belvedere,NC, one sister, Mrs. Julia Rountree Alexander of Philadelphia PA. His body was laid to rest amid beautiful floral designs in Calvary Cemetery.
