Virginian Pilot January 4,1994

Charlie Haywood Winstead, died Dec. 31, 1993, in Lake Taylor Hospital.
Mr. Winstead was a shoemaker. He was a Muslim.
He is survived by five daughters, Valerie Winstead, Charlene Winstead, Portia 
Winstead, Melissa Winstead and Fatima Winstead, all of Norfolk; three sons, 
Timothy Williams, Douglas Winstead and Raymond Winstead, all of Norfolk; seven 
sisters, Virginia Winstead, Mary Winstead, Catherine Heyward, Eunice Pitt and 
Dora Sykes, all of Norfolk, Ernestine Walton of Indianapolis, Ind., and Patricia 
Winstead of New York City; four brothers, Israel Winstead, Harry Winstead of 
Norfolk, Jesse Winstead of New York City and Shadrach Winstead of Wellington, 
N.C.; five grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Magnolia Cemetery 
by the Rev. Anthony Moses. The family will assemble at Graves Funeral Home at 
noon Wednesday.
