JOHN E. WINTER

NORFOLK - John Edgar (Ed) Winter, 71, of 3406 Dunkirk Ave., the husband of Mrs. 
Elizabeth Tekinder Winter and retired Norfolk City fireman, died Tuesday in a 
hospital.

He was a native of Norfolk and a son of Mrs. Blanche Fantone Pestorius of Norfolk. 

He was a fireman 35 years and retired.  He was a member of Christ the King 
Catholic Church.

Other survivors include a son, William A. Winter of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. 
Claudia E. Sams and Catherine M. Pestorius of Norfolk, and Mrs. Frances Woodard of 
Deland, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held tonight at 7 in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 
Norfolk Chapel.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Christ the 
King Catholic Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.  The family 
will be at his home.  Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Fund.
