Virginian-Pilot, August 02, 1900


The obsequies of Mr. George W. Wise, whose death occurred at his home Tuesday, 
were held from the family residence, No. 113 High Street, at 5 o’clock 
yesterday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Edward Mack, D.D., of 
the First Presbyterian Church, assisted by Rev. E. B. Hatcher, of the First 
Baptist Church. Delegates from Harmony Lodge, of Odd Fellows; Orient Lodge, 
Knights of Honor, and the Painters’ Union, of which the deceased was a member, 
attended the funeral. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery.
