Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 23, 1918

Mrs. Louisa Wise, wife of John A. Wise, 75 years old, died yesterday morning 
at 4:30 o'clock at her residence in Indian River Park, Norfolk County, 
following an illness of five weeks.  The deceased was a native of Lochaven, 
Pa., but had lived in the country for the past 16 years.  She was a daughter 
of the late Francis and Sarah Secrist of Lochaven, Pa.  Mrs. Wise is 
survived by a husband and nine children, three sons and six daughters.  They 
are Grant Wise, North Dakota; Ulysses Wise, Prince George County, Maryland; 
Clark H. Wise, Montana; Mrs. J.T. Kime, North Dakota; Mrs. Bertha Lake, Mrs. 
R.E. McCluer, Mrs. C.A. Johnston, Mrs. A.T. Paxton and Mrs. C.E. Johnston, 
all of this section.  Also one brother, William Secrist, Frederick, Md. and 
a sister, Mrs. E.M. Bartges, Lochaven, Pa.  Funeral services will be 
conducted at the late residence tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.  Interment will 
be made in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
