 Norfolk Ledger Dispatch July 13, 1918  
   
The funeral of Henry A. Wise took place at 5 o’clock this afternoon, at St. 
Luke’s Episcopal Church, and was conducted by the rector, Rev. D.W. Howard, 
D.D., being largely attended, members of Pickett-Buchanan Camp Confederate 
Veterans being present. The burial was in Elmwood, the honorary pallbearers 
being: Hon. W.R. Mayo, W.L. Brooke, J.S. Bagnall, C.J. Collins, C.W. Hatch, 
E.M. Baum, R.A. Debie, Edward Custic. The casket was handled by undertakers’ 
assistants.
