Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Sunday April 16, 1933
Mrs. Eva Wise Womble - Funeral services for Mrs. Womble, who died yesterday 
morning, will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of 
her daughter, Mrs. William McCormick Paxton, 1150 Manchester avenue.  The 
Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of Freemason Street Baptist Church, of 
which Mrs. Womble was a member, will officiate.  Burial will be in the 
family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Womble was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, daughter of the 
late Smith Edward and Mrs. Lucy Frances Borum Wise.  She is survived by her 
husband, James J. Womble; two daughters, Mrs. Paxton, and Mrs. Daniel Howe 
Hoge, of Fort Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Charles B. Oldfield and Mrs. John 
J. Mapp, of Norfolk, and Mrs. J. Alfred Garrett of Drumwright, Okla.; and 
four grandchildren.
