The Norfolk Virginian Pilot September 26, 1940
Oliver G. Womble, husband of Mrs. Edna Elliott Womble, and son of the late 
Jordan and Mrs. Martha Franks Womble, died at 2:10 o'clock yesterday morning at 
the residence, 1100 Hanover avenue, Larchmont.  Mr. Womble was a native of 
Raleigh, N.C., and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 40 years.  He 
was a member of Freemason Street Baptist Church.  Besides his wife, Mrs. Edna 
Elliott Womble, he is survived by one son, Irvine F. Womble, of Norfolk, and a 
number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the residence, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, 
with the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of Freemason Street Baptist 
Church, officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
